Authorities in Jefferson County say the body of a 14-year-old boy has been recovered from a pond at Nature’s Villa in Helenville.
A 911 caller reported the teenager had gone under Saturday night and never resurfaced.
Rescue divers searched the water for more than two-and-a-half hours until the effort was halted by darkness.
The search was resumed Sunday morning and the victim’s body was recovered at 8:30 a.m.
The boy’s name hasn’t been released.
The searchers were helped by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources’ underwater submersible drone that was equipped with sonar and cameras.
