The Badgers football program has suffered an important injury loss almost three months before the season is to begin.
Starting safety Travian Blaylock tore his right ACL during spring practice in April.
Blaylock was expected to start next to John Torchio in the defensive backfield during his fifth year in the program.
He appeared in all 13 games last season, notching 20 tackles in 140 defensive snaps.
This likely means that Muskego native Hunter Wohler will assume Blaylock’s spot with the Badgers’ first-team defense.
Wisconsin was already thin in the defensive backfield but did pick up some help through the transfer portal with the arrival of Kamo’I Latu from Utah.
