The Division 1 championship game of the WIAA State Baseball Tournament in Grand Chute tomorrow night will match two of the lowest seeds entering the tourney.
The Bay Port Pirates, who had the #8 seed, stunned #1 Sun Prairie 4-to-2 in the quarterfinals, before edging Menomonee Falls 4-to-3 in last night’s semifinals.
The Pirates of the FRCC will take a 21 and 9 record into the title game at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium.
And, they’ll face the Milton Red Hawks who ousted Greendale 8-to-2 in the other semifinal matchup after they knocked out the #3 seed Arrowhead 8-to-5 earlier in the day.
Yet to come tonight are the Division-2 state semifinals and the game we’re most interested in has Denmark battling Pewaukee at approximately 8:00 p.m.
Game-1 pits top-seeded Mosinee against Jefferson.
