Wide receiver Davante Adams says the likelihood that Aaron Rodgers will retire soon played a role in his decision to push for a trade from the Packers.
Adams, generally conceded to be one of the top receivers in the NFL, says he had to make a decision that would be best for his long-term success.
He says he wasn’t going to deal with Rodgers not being there after a year or two.
Adams says he’s also happy to play closer to his California home and reunite with his former college teammate – Raiders quarterback Derek Carr.
Rodgers has said he doesn’t blame Adams for the choice he made and he says he thinks about retirement “all the time.”
