6th District Congressman Glenn Grothman has introduced a bill aimed at making schools a safer place.
The bill called the Student and Teacher Safety Act would allow schools more flexibility with existing federal funds to make physical safety improvements to campus facilities, support programs aimed at improving school security, and facilitate communication between schools and law enforcement to identify threats.
This bill is co-sponsored by fellow Republicans in Congress, Nancy Mace and Morgan Griffith.
Grothman said in a statement that the bill “will make it possible for our local schools to better secure their campus and allow them to bolster security measures as well as coordinate with local law enforcement in ways that will fit their unique needs.”
