A conflict of interest could cause a delay in the trial of a Kaukauna man accused of killing his children.
Matthew Beyer has been charged with two counts of First Degree Intentional Homicide in the deaths of 5-year-old William and 3-year-old Danielle Beyer, who were found dead in their home in February 2020.
The prosecution has stated that they intend on calling Thoman Healy to the stand, as he reportedly has information about the case that Beyer relayed to him in jail.
One of the defense attorneys however told the court that she has a conflict of interest in relation to Healy, but did not give a specific reason.
Now, Beyer has to find a new lawyer, which could end up delaying his scheduled September trial.
Beyer is also accused of attempting to escape from the Outagamie County Jail in June 2020.
