The Wisconsin Supreme Court has ruled the state Department of Health Services can release data on COVID-19 infections at businesses.
The Tuesday ruling came on a narrow four-to-three vote.
Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce had sued the D.H.S. and the Evers administration in an effort to stop the release.
The business group was concerned that releasing the COVID information could harm the Wisconsin businesses.
Conservative Justice Brian Hagedorn joined three liberal justices in making the ruling.
They determined that the information can be released in response to open records requests from the media.
