Just three months after the record-setting spike in gas prices, the price at the pump once again took a dramatic upturn this past week.
According to the AAA Gas Prices webpage, Manitowoc County motorists are paying 59 cents more per gallon than they were at this time last week, $4.86.
The spike is only 7 cents less than the major jump in the second week in March.
Meanwhile, Sheboygan County fuel is up 51 cents to $4.84 while Calumet County saw a 52-cent rise to $4.77.
Gas in Outagamie County is costing an average of 49 cents more, now at $4.69, in Brown County gas rose 47 cents a gallon to $4.84, and in Kewaunee County, fuel is 45 cents more expensive, averaging $4.29.
Door County is coming dangerously close to the $5.00 mark, as they rose 42 cents to $4.92.
The state average is also up a whopping 55 cents to $4.89, while the national average “only” rose 29 cents to $4.91.
In the second week of June last year, fuel prices sat at an average of $2.88 in Manitowoc County, meaning in the last 12 months, there has been a $1.98 jump at the pump.
