Manitowoc Lincoln will be playing a nonconference game in week 2 of their football schedule this fall near Muskegon, Michigan.
The Shipbuilders matchup with the Sailors of Mona Shores High School will be played on Friday night, August 26th in what is hoped to become an annual crosslake rivalry.
To help offset the cost of traveling on the S.S. Badger from Manitowoc to Ludington, the Ships Booster Club is hosting a special fundraiser this Wednesday evening at the Wharf.
Lincoln varsity head coach Greg Enz spoke on the uniqueness of this budding rivalry.
He called it an “Awesome opportunity” for his players.
He said “Here we go. We’ve got Mona Shores, and Manitowoc. Everything seems to be fitting together well.”
The event downtown tomorrow is scheduled to run from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and will feature food, music, and a football mini-combine for kids.
