
After falling in two of their first three games against the Peoria Chiefs, the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers were able to bounce back and earn a split of the six-game series.
The Rattlers won Friday 7-4 and Sunday 5-1 but fell on Saturday 5-2 in front of a home crowd.
The Rattlers’ offense came to play in each of the final three games, as they accumulated 25 hits, six of which could not be contained in Fox Cities Stadium.
Rattler pitchers were also quite effective as they struck out 28 batters over the three-game stretch.
The Rattlers still sit in second place in the Midwest League’s West Division, two games behind the Cedar Rapids Kernels, and three games ahead of the South Bend Cubs.
The Appleton-based Rattlers will take today off before hitting the road for two straight weeks.
This week’s series will be held in Beloit as they take on the Sky Carp.
Then next week they will be in Midland Michigan for a six-game series against the Great Lakes Loons.
