Burlington police report three people suffered life-threatening injuries when their hot air balloon hit a train Wednesday evening.
Two of the victims had to be airlifted to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee.
Witnesses say the hot air balloon appeared to be in distress as it came down and collided with a Canadian National train.
Local police say they are working on the investigation with the National Traffic Safety Board, the Federal Aviation Administration, Canadian National Railroad, and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
