The cruise ship Octantis didn’t make its scheduled stop in Bayfield Tuesday because winds roaring at 20-40 miles an hour were creating waves of 5 to 10 feet.
These waves would have stopped passengers from boarding smaller boats from the Viking Cruise Ship.
The Octantis had stopped in Duluth at 6:00 a.m. making way under the Aerial Lift Bridge.
It will return to Bayfield later this month when it is hoped conditions on Lake Superior will allow it to get closer to shore.
