It was a hard-fought, back and forth battle, but no winner was ultimately determined in the week-long series between the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers and the Cedar Rapids Kernels.
The teams traded blows all week, with the Kernels winning games 1, 3, and 5, but the Rattlers would always bounce back and win the following games.
This series gave South Bend the opportunity to leapfrog both teams in the Midwest League’s West Division, but the Cubs only came one game closer as they edged out the Great Lakes Loons 4 games to 2 in their series.
Cedar Rapids remains in the top spot in the West, one game ahead of the Rattlers, and two ahead of the Cubs.
The Rattlers return to action today as they also look for some revenge against the Peoria Chiefs.
The last time the two teams met in Peoria, the Rattlers only picked up one win in six games.
The series this week is being held at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton, with first pitch scheduled for 6:40 p.m.
Justin Jarvis is getting the start for the Rattlers.
