The man who was charged with starting a deadly fire in Sturgeon Bay has pleaded not guilty.
58-year-old Anthony Gonzalez will stand trial on two charges of 2nd Degree Reckless Homicide, five counts of 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety and one count of Negligent Handling of Burning Material.
Gonzalez reportedly lived above Butch’s Bar on 3rd Avenue and accidentally started a fire in his apartment on February 22nd.
That fire destroyed the bar, which also had other apartments above it, and resulted in the deaths of two individuals.
Gonzalez returns to court on July 14th for a status conference.
