
Manitowoc Lutheran captured its’ second consecutive WIAA Regional Girls Track & Field title last night at Hilbert, while also qualifying in 17 events for Thursday’s Sectional.
Brooklyn Luebke is a regional champion in both the 1600 and 3200 meters.
Lancer teammates MonRaye Ermis and Emily Marohn took first in the shot put and triple jump, respectively.
Other Sectional qualifiers by virtue of a top-4 finish included Marohn in the 100 and 300 hurdles and the long jump, Taylor Schuettpelz in the 400-meter dash, Elizabeth Blauert in the long jump, Trisha Kiss in the 3200, and Ermis in the discus.
Shawn Egerer led the boy’s squad winning the 3200 meters as the Lancers placed 6th out of 12 teams.
Also qualifying for Sectionals were Sho Fukasawa in the long jump, Jacob Kanzenbach in the 800 and the 4-x-800 relay team consisting of Seth Ciha, John Thoma, Egerer and Kanzenbach.
