The series is all knotted up in Appleton, as the South Bend Cubs beat the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers yesterday afternoon 8-2.
After one inning of scoreless ball, the Cubs exploded for four runs in the 2nd inning, 2 in the 4th, and one more in the 5th before the Rattlers finally got on the board in the bottom half of the 5th.
South Bend added one more run in the 9th, securing their 21st win of the season.
The Rattlers simply couldn’t get anything going offensively, as they only accumulated 2 hits, and struck out 13 times.
There is no time to sulk however as the two teams are back at it tonight at Fox Cities Stadium.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:40 p.m. on what is being called Local Heroes Night.
The Rattlers will be supporting local law enforcement, firefighters, paramedics, and all first responders.
