Milwaukee is moving forward with its plans to enforce a curfew as part of its effort to curb gun violence.
The move is being made even though some research indicates curfews are ineffective.
The curfew would apply to people under the age of 17.
Milwaukee police say all of the people who have been arrested in last Friday’s mass shootings were between the ages of 19 and 31 – so they wouldn’t have been affected.
The Brookings Institute authored an op-ed seven years ago saying moving juvenile curfews up by even one hour actually created more shootings in Washington, D.C.
