The Wisconsin Parole Commission has reconsidered the release of a man convicted of killing his wife.
The victim’s family objected when the news went public that Douglas Balsewicz was getting out after serving 25 years of an 80-year sentence.
The family was told he would be released so Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers was asked to intervene.
After Evers talked to John Tate, the chairman of the parole commission, Tate agreed to rescind Balsewicz’s parole Friday evening.
