A Manitowoc man has been sentenced for his role in an overdose death from December 2020.
24-year-old Aaron M. Alverez pleaded guilty to a charge of 1st Degree Reckless Homicide by Delivering Drugs and will spend three years in prison.
That will be followed by five years of extended supervision.
Officers located the body of Alvarez’s half-brother in a home in the 4700 block of Hessel Court.
Alvarez later admitted to giving his half-brother the drugs that killed him, and he was arrested.
He was also sentenced to an additional 18 months in prison on an unrelated charge of Misappropriating ID Information to Obtain Money as a repeat offender, which also included two more years of extended supervision.
The Court also ordered Alverez to maintain absolute sobriety upon his release, and to submit to random urine screens to ensure his sobriety.
