The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers ended their weekend on a three-game win streak.
The Appleton-based ball club toppled the Fort Wayne TinCaps on Friday 3-2, 6-3 on Saturday, and ended the six game home series with a 4-3 win yesterday.
Based on those scores, you wouldn’t be blamed for thinking that the Rattlers were hitting the ball all over the park, but you would be incorrect.
In fact, the Rattlers were outhit 22-10 over the three games.
The most lopsided game hits-wise came last night, when Wisconsin pitchers gave up 10 hits and allowed three runs, while the Rattlers only accumulated 2 hits.
They didn’t have a single run until the 9th inning when 5 batters were walked scoring two runs, and Alex Hall singled in the game-tying and winning runs.
The Rattlers have walked off in six of their 15 games so far this season, which is more than they had during their 60 wins last season.
The Rattlers will take today off before starting another 6 game series on the road against the Quad Cities River Bandits.
