After taking a trip to Door County for a fresh coat of paint, the S.S. Badger Car Ferry is returning to Manitowoc for her maiden voyage of the season next week.
The 70-year-old vessel will start the season in Ludington Michigan on Thursday, May 12th, and will dock in Manitowoc at around noon.
Each year, the maiden voyage draws hundreds to the Badger dock, located at 900 South Lakeview Drive, and this year, the Manitowoc Lincoln High School band will be on hand.
Those in attendance are also invited to stop into the new Visit Manitowoc Visitor Information Center located within the Car Ferry ticket office at the dock.
Over the past couple of months, the Department of Tourism has been busy refreshing the interior of the building and is excited to welcome visitors to the space to view the fresh paint, updated amenities, and complete redesign.
The car ferry season will run from May 12th through October 16th, and tickets are available at SSBadger.com.
