A photo of an abandoned dog in Green Bay has many people saddened, but there is more to the story than a dog without an owner.
The photo was posted by the Wisconsin Humane Society, where they explain that there is a lot to unpack in what to some may appear to be a simple picture of the canine named Baby Girl.
While, yes Baby Girl is sitting alone, she is accompanied by a backpack with items in it and is securely attached to the fire hydrant.
The Humane Society also noted that Baby Girl was left in a busy neighborhood with a note explaining why the owner did what they did.
The previous owner appears to have a medical condition that made caring for the canine no longer possible, but the Humane Society said in a statement directed to the owner, “It’s evident just how much you loved her and we can see you did your best.”
