
The details surrounding a crash last weekend in Manitowoc have finally been released.
According to police reports, the crash on Calumet Avenue at the intersection with I-43 occurred at around 10:10 a.m. on Sunday, May 1st.
Before the officers arrived, some nurses who happened to be passing by began aiding the victims.
One vehicle was still on the north side of the Calumet and had struck a power pole, while the second vehicle has been forced down the hill by the on-ramp for I-43 South.
Lights reportedly flickered at nearby businesses immediately after the crash.
A witness told the officers that the first vehicle was coming up the off-ramp when it struck the second vehicle, which was traveling west on Calumet.
Surveillance footage showed the first vehicle pass through a red light before striking the second.
The driver of the first vehicle suffered what were termed serious injuries, while the other driver suffered minor injuries.
Both were taken by ambulance to nearby hospitals.
No other injuries were reported.
