Despite requests from several corners, convicted killer, Brendan Dassey, isn’t likely to be released from prison.
Governor Evers’ office has said he isn’t considering sentence commutations for the time being.
Dassey’s lawyers say their client was coerced into confessing to being a part of Teresa Halbach’s murder in 2005.
Dassey recanted his confession at the trial in Manitowoc County Court.
He and his uncle, Steven Avery, were sentenced to life in prison for the killing.
An appeal was denied five years ago.
He isn’t eligible for parole until 2048.
