Habitat for Humanity Lakeside celebrated the completion of its sixth and final home on Erie Avenue in the Gateway neighborhood of Sheboygan last week Tuesday.
This project started more than a decade ago when the City of Sheboygan made a point of overhauling this part of the Erie Corridor.
Chad Pelishek the City of Sheboygan’s Director of Planning and Development praised the work of the local Habitat for Humanity group, noting their vision to “revitalize one of the city’s oldest neighborhoods.”
He went on to say, “The City of Sheboygan applauds Habitat for Humanity Lakeside in their final home dedication closing the 11-year plan to revitalize this neighborhood.”
To date, Habitat for Humanity Lakeside has completed 47 homes for low-to-moderate income families throughout Sheboygan County since the affiliate was established in 1993.
