The Plymouth Arts Center is inviting the public to sign up for an upcoming basket-making class, which will be held in June.
Artist Pat Kruse, who is a member of the Red Cliff Band of Ojibwe will be running the Birchbark Basket Workshop on June 14th inside the PAC classroom from 10:00 to 1:00 p.m.
He plans to expose community members to Indigenous Ojibwe culture and the vanishing techniques associated with birchbark methods and quill basketry.
The three-hour workshop will provide a hands-on opportunity for participants to create traditional birchbark baskets.
Only 20 spots will be offered free of charge at the PAC for the in-person instruction and will be filled on a first come first serve basis.
All supplies are included.
