While many people have donated money, medical supplies, and even themselves to support the families affected by the Russian invasion of Ukraine, a woodworker in Green Bay is using his skills to help the children.
Rick Brunner, through his non-profit known as Rick’s Toybox, has sent hundreds of handmade toys to the eastern European country.
As of their latest count, Rick and his numerous volunteer helpers have sent nearly 900 hand-crafted cars across the pond and have received photos back of children enjoying the toys, as well as crayons and lollipops he sent with them.
Brunner said that he and his helpers will continue to make more toys as long as the children need and want them.
