Students in the Fine Arts program at Manitowoc Lutheran High School received a major honor over the weekend.
During a trip to Chicago, the entire MLHS Music Department received Best Overall Music Program at the 2022 Chicago Heritage Festival of Music, while Katie Ungemach received an outstanding soloist award for her French Horn solos.
Also honored were the Concert/Cantate Choir who earned a gold medal, the Lancer Singers who also received a gold medal, and the Symphonic Band who received a silver.
The trip wasn’t all work for the musicians, however.
They were able to attend a live performance of The Blue Man Group and attended Medieval Times.
