The Friends of Mariners Trail has given a monetary donation to the City of Two Rivers.
A news release indicates the $10,000 is to support the replacement of the trail blacktop.
This project fulfills the mission of FOMT, which is an advocate for Mariners Trail, to make suggestions for its improvement, and raise funds to assist the cities of Two Rivers and Manitowoc with future development and enhancements to the trail.
Funding for the $10,000 donation came from memberships, sponsorships, and donors.
Funds raised by The Friends of Mariners Trail have been used in various ways for improvements over the years, including the donation of benches, the purchase and installation of bike racks, and even a bike repair station.
