Former Badgers linebacker Chris Orr has been nominated for USFL Defensive Player of the Week.
After he was waived by the Carolina Panthers last year, Orr was picked up in the USFL Draft by the New Jersey Generals.
When the Generals beat the Michigan Panthers in Birmingham Friday night, Orr led all defenders with 10 total and three solo tackles.
This is something like an NFL tryout for players like Orr and former Badgers running back Garrett Groshek.
If they play well, they could advance.
