We have received numerous calls from people looking to help those in Ukraine that have been affected by the Russian invasion.
The generous nature of Wisconsinites has been in full force, but alongside that is the devious nature of those who look to take advantage of the situation.
Scammers have been using email and Western Union to take money from those looking to donate to the cause.
An email message has been going around where the sender pretends to be a 22-year-old Ukrainian refugee who claims they lost their family.
They say their father had $2 million in a European bank, and if you send them some cash, they will give you 30% of the money.
This is of course a scam.
Also, if you sent money to a scammer using Western Union, you can get a refund.
For the full details on how to do that, visit the Federal Trade Commission website.
Those who are looking to donate to the cause can reach out to Wisconsin Ukrainians Inc. on Facebook. They will help you make sure your money or supplies get to where they need to go.
