Karen A. Lippert, age 64, entered eternal life with family by her side early Thursday morning, April 21, 2022, at her brother Allen’s residence in Two Rivers where she had been residing since 2020.
The following content was written by Karen to express in her own words her thoughts and feeling as you read her obituary.
“I was born on November 5, 1957 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Kenneth and Leona Kowalski Lippert. I’m survived by brother Lawrence (Peni) Lippert, Hawaii and his children, brother Allen (Cindy) Lippert, Two Rivers. I resided with Allen and Cindy since 2020 due to health issues and they cared for me the remaining time until my passing. I am very thankful for that care and all the sacrifices they made for me during that time.
I graduated from Lincoln High School in 1975 and in 1976 received certification from Lakeshore Technical College for dental chairside assistant. I was then employed with Dr. Robert Klessig until his retirement at which time I had transferred to an administrative position. Another practice merged with Dr. Klessig’s office prior to his retirement and I continued duties for Shoreline Dental Associated until 2016.
For over thirty-nine years in this dental practice I had many happy memories and had met so many great people which had resulted in making more friends along the way. It was always a pleasure to see a patient outside the office and catch up with what’s been going on in their life since we last spoke. Conversation was a whole lot easier when hands and dental instruments didn’t get in the way of interesting topics. Facial expressions by a patient said a whole lot during appointments and will bring a smile and laugh to those who remember one-sided conversations from those days. It was always more entertaining for our patients and staff to share life stories at times which made working there each day a usually fun experience. Dr. Robert Klessig was a great boss and dentist and I thank him for those memorable years.
I enjoyed and attempted many sport activities with a list that could be endless. To describe my talent at some of them could be “the good, the bad, the ugly and the lucky!” Other participants at these activities have their own version of my skills which usually ends in a look of disbelief and or ends in laughter and shaking of heads. As some know it is not the point of competing to be the best or first (of course it is okay if that happens) but it’s to achieve comfort, relaxation and share a smile and laugh along the way. Why I participated with any activities was either for family, friends involved, or socialized to meet and laugh with other fun-loving characters. I want to thank everyone who made my life such an exciting trip.
My family and friends always had a special place in my heart. I am again so thankful and grateful to Allen and Cindy for their special care of me. Also, a heartful thank you to Vicki and Tom Bushman for always being there when all this began. I want to thank my relatives and many friends who had stepped in at any time when I needed help. Their acts of love and friendship have gotten me through so many situations in this ordeal.”
