A big-league job is at stake for some Brewers pitchers over the next eight days.
The team will have to send two to the minor leagues by May 1st when rosters are cut back from 28 to 26.
Lefty Aaron Ashby may have only one more start to convince manager Craig Counsell he needs to stay in “The Show.”
Even though Jake Cousins was dependable last season, he has struggled some in the early going and Ashby and Cousins have two options each.
Jandel Gustave has been effective, but he has an option remaining.
And, it would seem less likely, but struggling starter Freddy Peralta and equally struggling eighth-inning reliever Devin Williams could both be sent down without being exposed to waivers.
The Brewers play at Philadelphia tonight with Peralta scheduled to start.
The game will be aired on 107.9 FM WOMT starting at 5:39 p.m.
