The retirement of Jay Wright at Villanova opens the door for another basketball program to reign supreme in the Big East.
Wright turned the Wildcats into the conference’s dominant program over the last 21 years.
That dominance included two national titles.
That doesn’t mean his replacement, Kyle Neptune, won’t continue the program’s success.
But, four Big East schools will have new leadership next winter and the Shaka Smart-led Golden Eagles actually beat Villanova twice last season.
