People pushing for the legalization of medical marijuana in Wisconsin had a chance to urge state lawmakers to move forward during a Wednesday hearing.
That hearing was the latest sign that the state’s pot laws might be loosened.
It will still take some time.
The hearing was scheduled after the Wisconsin Legislature adjourned for the year.
That means the earliest anything could be done is next year.
Backers of the idea say they will continue to go to Illinois to get the drug – even though it is illegal to bring those products across the state line back into Wisconsin.
