
Manitowoc Lincoln and Mishicot Girls Softball teams coasted to conference victories last night.
The Ships demolished host Notre Dame 25-to-1 in an FRCC game halted by the mercy rule after 5-innings.
Karenna Sorenson and Christina Knox combined to strike out 4 batters without issuing a walk.
Offensively, Coach Ashley Bauer’s squad was led by Kailee Ansorge who went 3-6 with 5 RBI’s, a triple, and 3 stolen bases while Maria Kraynek was for 3-5 with a double, triple and an RBI and Olivia Konkle added 3 hits and stole 3-bases.
Lizzy Stuebs was 2 for 3 with a triple and 3 RBI’s, while Kendra Wech chipped in 2 hits, 2-RBI’s and 3-stolen bases.
The Ships next game is tomorrow against Ashwaubenon, a 4:30 p.m. start at Manitowoc Youth Sports Complex.
In the Big East Conference, reigning state champion Mishicot plated 9-runs in the bottom of the 4th inning to defeat Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah 16-0.
Ashlyn Bennin was the winning pitcher, allowing just 2 hits with 6-strikeouts and no walks in 4-innings. She also drove in 3 runs with a pair of base hits.
Cora Stodola knocked in 4 runs while going 2-for-2 with a run scored.
Ally McArdle and Katelyn Callahan both went 2-for-4 and combined to score 7-runs for the Indians in their 4th win without a loss this season.
