With many people clearing out their unwanted items as a part of their spring cleaning, a spike in donations is expected at places like Goodwill.
The Appleton Police Department is reminding citizens that even if a donation is placed outside, once it is dropped off it becomes the property of Goodwill.
This became an issue after an unknown individual snagged an item from outside the Appleton location. Goodwill relies on donations to keep its business alive.
Taking donations not only is a crime, it could be hurting someone else who needed that item but could not afford to buy a new one.
If you would like to make a donation of either cash or of items, visit GoodwillNCW.org to see their collection times.
