
A 21-year-old Milwaukee man faces charges for carrying weapons while he was in a crowd near Chicago’s mayor.
A sharp-eyed member of Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s security team spotted the outline of a gun in a bag carried by Treveon Broadway.
When the bag was searched, Chicago police found two handguns, a laser sight attachment, a silencer, and metal-piercing bullets.
Broadway faces two felony weapons charges. Mayor Lightfoot had just left a celebration honoring former Chicago mayor Harold Washington.
The security detail was parked outside when Broadway was stopped and detained.
