An Appleton woman has been convicted in the death of her 2-month old son in 2017.
35-year-old Nicole Sobay was found guilty due to a no-contest plea on a charge of Child Neglect Causing Death.
The young boy died on June 8th, 2017 after Sobay told police the two had fallen asleep on her bed together.
When she woke up, she noticed the infant face down and not responding.
Sobay admitted to police that she was hungover, and a blood draw found amphetamines, Methamphetamines, opiates, and cannabinoids in her system.
An autopsy of the infant revealed he died from “Asphyxia with High-risk sleeping environment including bed-sharing with an adult as a contributing factor.”
Sobay will be back in court for sentencing on July 1st.
