Second baseman Kolton Wong entered Wednesday’s game known for his Gold Glove defense, but it was his ninth-inning triple that knocked in the winning run in a 4-2 Brewers victory at Baltimore.
Rowdy Tellez doubled in Wong for an insurance run.
Corbin Burnes pitched seven shutout innings and left with a two-run lead.
The Orioles tied it in the eighth, then Wong knocked in Hunter Renfroe to put Milwaukee ahead.
Brad Boxberger got the win and Josh Hader slammed the door in the bottom of the ninth for his third save.
The Brewers meet St. Louis this afternoon at 4:14 p.m. in their home opener for the 2022 season.
