Packers backup quarterback Jordan Love is still looking for a starting job after two seasons.
The huge contract extension signed by NFL Most Valuable Player Aaron Rodgers means Love has more waiting to do.
He’ll be wearing the baseball hat, not the helmet – barring misfortune for Rodgers.
Packers CEO Mark Murphy says the team thinks Love can be a good player, “but we haven’t seen enough.”
That makes the upcoming preseason games very important for the former first-round draft pick.
Love hasn’t set off fireworks when he takes the field so far and Rodgers knows how he feels.
The current starter sat behind Brett Favre for some time after his arrival.
