The City of Sheboygan and the family of a 9-year-old boy who was killed after being struck by a garbage truck have reached a settlement agreement.
Roman Martin was hit by the city’s vehicle in October of 2019 while he was riding his bike to school.
The State Patrol investigated the incident and determined that neither the City of the driver of the truck were at fault as Roman failed to yield the right of way.
His family did file a claim asking for $250,000 in damages which prompted a civil suit.
Before the issue could go to court, the two parties settled on a payment of just over $94,000 to his mother Audrey Brubaker.
