First-degree reckless homicide charges have been filed against a 42-year-old Milwaukee man.
Ellis Mitchell showed up at the District 7 police station in Milwaukee last Thursday.
He told the desk officers he was turning himself in because he had shot his girlfriend.
Mitchell said the two were playing with a gun when he pointed it at her.
His finger was on the trigger when she slapped at the weapon and it went off, shooting her in the head.
The victim’s name hasn’t been released.
Mitchell apparently waited for a day and a half before showing up at the police station.
