Manitowoc Public School District Superintendent Mark Holzman has been offered the position to lead the Janesville school district.
The news was confirmed in a Thursday morning press release.
The School District of Janesville Board of Education extended the offer to Holzman and is scheduled to officially vote on the hiring April 12.
Holzman expressed mixed feelings in a letter to district students, staff and families, saying, “I am excited for the opportunity that this new challenge provides but I will miss collaborating with my great colleagues in the MPSD and serving our incredible students and families.”
He added, “… I am forever grateful for everything you have taught me along the way.”
If the hire is approved by the board, Holzman will continue to serve MPSD for the remainder of the school year. In his letter, he pledged to “help support a smooth transition.”
