While details of what exactly led to the death of an 8-year-old Sheboygan Falls boy are not yet clear, some key evidence has been handed over to the prosecutors in the case.
The Sheboygan Falls Police Department has handed over police body camera footage, which shows the immediate aftermath of the attack on Oliver Hitchcock.
He died Friday evening, just two days after he was attacked by his mother, whose name has not yet been released.
Sheboygan Falls Police Chief Eric Miller said that his department had no previous contact with that unit in the Plank Trail Apartments, so his officers were going into the situation with little information, including who the suspect was, and if they were armed.
He praised the work his officers did in attempting to help Oliver, while also sharing his grief at the death of this young boy.
Charges of 1st Degree Intentional Homicide and Attempted Homicide have been referred to the District Attorney’s Office.
Oliver’s mother is expected to be in court sometime today.
