A Sheboygan Falls child is in critical condition following an incident Wednesday afternoon.
The Sheboygan Falls Police Department is reporting that officers were called to an apartment in the 1100 block of Plank Trail Lane just before 5:00 p.m. on a report of an assault.
They arrived to find the 8-year-old boy unresponsive and took him to St. Nicholas Hospital, but he was transferred to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee.
Police reports claim that the mother assaulted the young boy before injuring herself, while the father, who was in the apartment at the time, called 911, and began performing life-saving measures on the child.
The 41-year-old woman is also still being treated at a local hospital, while a second child in the home was uninjured.
The father is cooperating with authorities, and charges are likely to be filed against the mother.
