Convicted killer Steven Avery is looking to lawmakers for help.
Avery was convicted in the killing of Theresa Halbach in 2005, but to this day maintains his innocence.
He has written a letter to the Wisconsin Legislature in which he complains about a judge, his lawyers, and other aspects of his case while pleading for help from state lawmakers.
In the letter, Avery stated, “The Criminal Justice System is Broken; And it has to be Fixed and this is the time to fix it and get it right, Because I’m the victim of a setup and it has to be fixed now.”
He points to not only how his initial trial was handled, but also how his appeals and post-conviction motions were handled by numerous individuals.
