N-F-L owners have voted for a rule change to give both teams a chance to score in playoff overtime games.
The move came on the last day of the 2022 league meetings in Palm Beach, Florida.
The new rule will only apply in post-season games.
The old rule ended the game if the first team with the ball in overtime scores a touchdown.
That led to a situation where the team winning the coin toss claimed victory in 10-of-12 post-season overtime games.
The new rule was first proposed by the Eagles and Colts, then the Chiefs offered a similar overtime rule four years ago.
