The day after breaking a four-game losing streak the Brewers were back on the losing side Tuesday in a 10-3 decision against Cleveland.
The Guardians pounded four home runs at Goodyear Park. Milwaukee scored the first three runs of the game but it was all Cleveland after that.
Starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff gave up six earned runs on three homers in less than four innings.
He took the loss.
Guardian relievers blanked manager Craig Counsell’s team over the last six-and-two-thirds innings.
Milwaukee meets the Padres on the board this afternoon.
Also, right-hander, Corbin Burnes has been named the Brewers’ starting pitcher for opening day. Manager Craig Counsell announced the assignment Tuesday.
Woodruff started the last two openers.
Burnes will be going against the Chicago Cubs on April 7th at Wrigley Field. The Cubs haven’t named their starter yet.
Burnes is the reigning National League Cy Young Award winner after going 11-5 last season with a Major League Baseball-leading earned run average of 2.43.
