There is going to be one more short delay in the reckless homicide trial for a former Milwaukee police officer.
The jury trial for Michael Mattioli is scheduled to begin on May 2nd.
He is charged with the April 2020 death of Joel Acevedo.
A final pre-trial hearing was going to be held this week, but it has been rescheduled to next Monday because the judge hearing the case is sick.
Mattioli is accused of using a chokehold on Acevedo during an off-duty fight at the former officer’s home.
The victim died six days later.
